Air 1: thin, light and still 5,000mAh

The Air 1 was designed around a balance that sounds simple and rarely is: a phone that feels light in the hand without asking you to charge it twice a day.

Lightness usually comes from shrinking the battery. Battery life usually comes from making the phone thicker and heavier. The Air 1 refuses both trades, which is why it is the model in our range that most people describe as comfortable before they describe it as capable.

Comfort first

The 6.56-inch HD+ display uses a teardrop cutout rather than a wide notch, so the top of the screen stays usable and the front reads as a single uninterrupted surface. The body is shaped so the frame sits comfortably against your fingers during long reading sessions — the difference you notice after twenty minutes, not after twenty seconds.

Everyday performance

4GB of physical memory plus 16GB of virtual memory keeps common apps responsive and switching between them quick. Storage comes in two tiers, 64GB and 128GB, so the phone can be matched to whether you stream your media or keep it on the device.

Cameras

A 16MP main camera handles everyday photos, documents and daylight shots, paired with an 8MP front camera for video calls and selfies. It is a configuration chosen for consistency across normal conditions rather than a headline number that only appears in ideal light.

Connectivity

  • Wi-Fi 6 — less congestion on busy networks, which is the situation where older Wi-Fi standards show their age.
  • Bluetooth 5.0 — stable pairing with earbuds, watches and car systems.
  • Android 16 — the current release from the first boot.
